The Detroit Pistons are not expected to pursue a trade for Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis, according to reporting from Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press. Sankofa’s sources said no discussions have taken place between Detroit and Dallas, and the organization is not positioned to join the bidding if the eight-time All-Star becomes available.

Team officials reportedly view Davis’ age, contract and injury history as a poor match for a roster built around young talent. Detroit is also reluctant to take on additional long-term salary with restricted free agent Jalen Duren eligible for a substantial extension this summer.

Bucks’ Prince Shares Progress After Neck Surgery

Taurean Prince spoke publicly Thursday for the first time since undergoing neck surgery nearly a month ago. After Milwaukee’s morning shootaround, the 31-year-old forward told reporters he had “no choice” but to have the procedure if he wanted to play again.

Prince, who holds a $3.81 million player option for 2025-26, remains sidelined from all physical activity but insists he will return. “God blessed me with these talents, so I feel like I should exert ’em till the end,” he said.

Pacers’ Jackson Nearing Return

Quenton Jackson will suit up for the G League’s Noblesville Boom on Thursday night before meeting the Indiana Pacers in Philadelphia on Friday, head coach Rick Carlisle told reporters. The guard has not appeared in an NBA game since straining his hamstring on Nov. 3 and is listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup with the 76ers.

Robinson-Earl Weighs Options After Waiver

Veteran forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, waived by Indiana on Wednesday, is considering multiple paths, including a spot with the Boom, Carlisle said. Robinson-Earl averaged 4.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in 17 appearances (17.6 minutes per game) before falling out of the rotation earlier this month.
