Free-agent guard Quincy Olivari is set to join the Detroit Pistons, according to CSE Talent senior vice president Darrell Comer, who relayed the news to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Olivari, 24, spent part of the 2024/25 campaign on a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 6’3” Xavier product appeared in two NBA games before being waived in January 2025 and finishing the season with the South Bay Lakers in the G League. He later played for Brooklyn’s entry in the 2025 Summer League.
In 31 G League contests—29 as a starter—Olivari averaged 17.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 40.1 percent from the field, 34.2 percent from three-point range and 78.1 percent at the foul line.
Contract terms were not disclosed, but his limited NBA experience suggests the agreement is an Exhibit 10 deal that allows Detroit to convert him to its G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise, before the regular season.
The Pistons already have Charles Bediako, Dawson Garcia and Brice Williams on Exhibit 10 agreements. All three of the club’s two-way slots are occupied, and 14 of 15 standard roster spots are filled.
If Olivari is waived and subsequently joins the Cruise, he could earn a bonus of up to $85,300 by remaining with the affiliate for at least 60 days.
