The Detroit Pistons have added center Charles Bediako, forwards Dawson Garcia and John Ukomadu, and wing Brice Williams to their offseason roster, signing each to a non-guaranteed training camp contract on Sept. 18, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.
All four agreements are expected to be Exhibit 10 deals, which carry the league minimum salary, include no guaranteed money, and can be converted to two-way contracts before the regular season. Because Detroit’s three two-way slots are already filled, the players are most likely to be waived after camp and join the club’s G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise. Exhibit 10 language would allow each to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 by spending at least 60 days with the Cruise.
Bediako
The 7-footer went undrafted out of Alabama in 2023 and has spent two seasons in the G League, splitting time between the Austin Spurs and the Grand Rapids Gold. He appeared in 50 games for the Gold last year, averaging 9.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks. Earlier this week, his returning rights were traded to Motor City.
Garcia
An undrafted rookie, Garcia completed a five-year college career that included three seasons at Minnesota. The 6-11 forward produced 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across 32 games as a super-senior in 2024-25, shooting 47.4 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from deep, and 78.3 percent at the line.
Ukomadu
Ukomadu, a 6-7 forward, went undrafted out of Eastern Kentucky in 2024 and spent last season with Motor City. He connected on 53.0 percent of his field-goal attempts and 45.9 percent of his three-pointers while posting 8.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per contest.
Williams
Williams also went undrafted in June and played for Detroit’s Summer League team in Las Vegas. During his final season at Nebraska in 2024-25, the 6-6 wing averaged 20.4 points on 47.1 percent shooting, adding 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.1 steals over 35 starts.
With the four signings, the Pistons have reached the offseason limit of 21 players under contract.
