DETROIT – Nov. 8, 2025: Center Jalen Duren powered the Pistons past the Nets on Friday with 30 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, sustaining an early-season surge that has him averaging 19.2 points and 11.3 boards through nine games.
“We put together a plan over the summer for him and he was as dedicated to that plan as anybody,” head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “You watch how much more aggressive he is offensively … it all comes down to the work that he’s put in.”
Duren is tracking toward restricted free agency next summer after the club was unable to reach a rookie-scale extension before last month’s deadline. Guard Cade Cunningham added, “He’s dominant. He’s attacking every game.”
Cunningham Matches the Big Man
Cunningham supplied 34 points and 10 assists, making him and Duren the first Detroit teammates to post 30-point double-doubles in the same contest since Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond did so on Dec. 18, 2015, against Chicago, the team’s public-relations staff noted.
Frontcourt Hit by Injuries
Isaiah Stewart exited in the second quarter after rolling his left ankle. Detroit was already without Tobias Harris, who has missed three straight outings with an ankle sprain, opening the door for 2024 second-round pick Bobi Klintman. In just his second appearance of the season, Klintman contributed two points, four rebounds and an assist in 12 minutes.
Pistons Claim Isaac Jones
Detroit added depth Thursday by claiming rookie big man Isaac Jones off waivers from the Kings. Bickerstaff said Jones’ high-energy style “fits right in” with the club’s front-court rotation, describing the newcomer as “a fighter” and “a scrapper.”
