According to league sources cited by Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Detroit Pistons are expected to keep their roster intact as the trade deadline approaches.
Siegel reported that Detroit does not plan to part with any of its primary players, a group that includes Tobias Harris, Jaden Ivey and Isaiah Stewart. Harris, 33, is the team’s eldest player, is currently sidelined by a hip strain and is on an expiring $26.6 million contract. Despite those factors, the Pistons reportedly value his leadership and production while pursuing a postseason berth.
The organization’s stance reflects the measured approach favored by president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon, who has prioritized continuity over short-term roster shuffles. That strategy is not expected to change unless an exceptional opportunity arises.
Should Detroit revisit the idea of a major acquisition, Siegel identified Trey Murphy III as a player of interest. Langdon served as general manager in New Orleans when the Pelicans drafted Murphy, giving Detroit a prior connection to the forward.
