The New Orleans Pelicans have reached a three-year agreement with two-way swingman Bryce McGowens, agents Kyle McAlarney and Mark Bartelstein told ESPN’s Shams Charania.

McGowens, 23, is averaging 7.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 19.9 minutes per game this season. He has started 11 times and is shooting 48.0% from the field and 45.3% from three-point range.

The 6-foot-6 guard joined New Orleans on a two-way contract last summer after appearing in 118 games for the Hornets and Trail Blazers between 2022 and 2025, where he posted career averages of 4.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14.4 minutes. Selected 40th overall in the 2022 draft out of Nebraska, McGowens still had eligibility for nine additional NBA games under his two-way deal.

With an opening on the 15-man roster, the Pelicans opted to convert his contract immediately. Because the new agreement spans three seasons, the club is expected to use part of its mid-level exception to finalize the signing.

McGowens’ promotion frees up a two-way slot, leaving New Orleans with Trey Alexander and Hunter Dickinson as its remaining two-way players.
