December 20, 2025 — A series of roster questions and injury developments are shaping teams across the NBA’s Pacific Division.
Warriors
Columnist Scott Ostler of The San Francisco Chronicle recommends Golden State trade forward Jonathan Kuminga and move veteran Draymond Green to the bench, at least temporarily. Kuminga becomes trade-eligible on January 15 and, according to Ostler, still carries value because some clubs believe he has not received a consistent opportunity under coach Steve Kerr. The 21-year-old returned Thursday after a three-game absence, logging 9:31 and shooting 1-for-5.
Ostler also points to Green’s 3.3 turnovers per game (career average: 2.3) and 39.1% field-goal mark entering Saturday’s contest as reasons for a brief demotion. He argues a new first unit could surround Stephen Curry with at least three additional shooters.
Kings
With Domantas Sabonis sidelined another four to five weeks, rookie center Maxime Raynaud will remain Sacramento’s starter, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports. The No. 42 pick is averaging 15.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists over his last five games while shooting 53.4% from the floor and 33.3% from three. Coach Doug Christie shifted Keegan Murray from power forward to small forward on Thursday, a spot the organization views as Murray’s long-term position.
Lakers
Head coach J.J. Redick told reporters he expects forward Rui Hachimura (groin soreness) to miss only three to five days after feeling hip discomfort Thursday in Utah. Redick added that center Deandre Ayton (left elbow) and guard Austin Reaves (left calf) are progressing and could return for Tuesday’s matchup in Phoenix.
Clippers
Coach Tyronn Lue said forward Derrick Jones Jr. (MCL sprain) has begun five-on-five scrimmages, according to The Athletic’s Law Murray. Jones’ activity raises the possibility he could beat the early-January target date for his return.
Suns
Guard Grayson Allen sat out a second straight game Saturday with right knee soreness but is “doing more and more every day,” coach Jordan Ott told The Arizona Republic. Ott said there have been no setbacks and expects Allen back soon.
