Golden State head coach Steve Kerr said he is focusing on lifting team morale after season-ending injuries to Jimmy Butler (ACL) and Stephen Curry (knee). Speaking Wednesday on 95.7 FM’s “Willard & Dibs” program, Kerr admitted the Warriors looked “demoralized” during Tuesday’s loss to Chicago, the club’s third straight setback and fifth in six games.

“Without Steph, without Jimmy, I think I have to take on more responsibility—just keeping the guys’ spirits up,” Kerr said.

Lakers Seek Consistency on Defense

The Lakers have limited their last two opponents—New York to 97 points and Minnesota to 106—but head coach JJ Redick cautioned the improvement must last. “We’re not gonna be the No. 1 defense in the league,” Redick told The Athletic. “But to be above average … is really encouraging.” Redick pointed to rim protection as a priority, noting the team’s “low man” rotation has to deliver “paint consequences.”

Journalist Pablo Torre, who first reported the allegation in the offseason, uncovered a 2023 whistleblower complaint filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission accusing Aspiration of misusing funds to award Leonard an incentive-based bonus, according to The Athletic’s Mike Vornukov.

Kings First West Team Eliminated
