The Indiana Pacers are parting ways with guard Mac McClung and bringing in veteran point guard Monte Morris, according to reports from ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Morris, 30, is expected to sign a one-year contract that is fully non-guaranteed, The Indianapolis Star’s Dustin Dopirak reported. The move will give Indiana additional backcourt depth while preserving financial flexibility.
Waiving McClung leaves the Pacers with a cap hit of $164,060 for the remainder of the season, ESPN’s Bobby Marks noted. McClung’s existing two-year agreement for 2025/26 and 2026/27 carried no guarantees.
McClung, a 6-foot-2 guard and three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion, appeared in three games for Indiana this season. He averaged 6.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 11.3 minutes per night, shooting 38.9% from the field, 20.0% from three-point range and 75.0% at the free-throw line.
Additional roster moves or contract details have not been announced.
