The Indiana Pacers intend to sign free agent forward Jalen Slawson to a two-way contract, filling the slot previously held by Quenton Jackson, a league source told Tony Forbes of Forbes and Circle City Spin.
Jackson is being moved to a three-year standard NBA deal, creating the opening for Slawson’s arrival.
Selected 54th overall in the 2023 draft after a standout career at Furman University, Slawson spent the 2023/24 season on a two-way pact with the Sacramento Kings, appearing in 12 games.
The 6’7” wing has played exclusively in the NBA G League since then, suiting up for the Osceola Magic in 2024/25 and the Pacers’ affiliate, the Noblesville Boom, in 2025/26.
Through 35 games with the Boom this season, Slawson is averaging 18.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.1 blocks and 1.3 blocks in 34.2 minutes, shooting .486 from the field, .348 from three-point range and .775 at the foul line.
He signed Exhibit 10 contracts with Orlando and Indiana the past two off-seasons but was waived before opening night both times.
Because Slawson has not appeared in the NBA since 2023/24, the upcoming agreement will count as his second NBA season. Many recent two-way deals have covered two years, making a multi-year structure possible.
In late December, Keith Smith of Spotrac labeled Slawson the G League’s top all-around player at the conclusion of the Tip-Off Tournament, when the forward had appeared in 10 games.
