Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. said Friday he will suit up Saturday in Charlotte after sitting out the club’s last eight games with a left elbow sprain.

76ers Updates

With Paul George and Joel Embiid already back in action, Philadelphia is nearing full strength. The lone remaining absentee is Tyrese Maxey, who has not played since March 7 because of a finger injury. Head coach Nick Nurse told reporters Maxey has been “a lot more involved” in workouts over the past 48 hours and has maintained his conditioning, indicating a short ramp-up once he is cleared. Maxey will be reevaluated in the coming days.

Timberwolves

Anthony Edwards (right knee patellofemoral pain syndrome) will miss a sixth consecutive game Saturday against Detroit. The guard has been cleared for on-court practice activities, and Minnesota noted that his return could be close. To meet the 65-game minimum for postseason awards, Edwards must play in each of the Wolves’ final eight contests starting Monday.

Celtics

The Boston Celtics ruled out Jaylen Brown for Friday’s matchup with Atlanta due to left Achilles tendinitis. Brown needs one more appearance to hit the 65-game threshold for award eligibility.

Lakers

Luka Doncic (hamstring) and Rui Hachimura (calf) were both upgraded from questionable to available for Friday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Jazz

Although Jaren Jackson Jr. remains projected to miss the rest of the season following surgery to remove a non-cancerous growth from his left knee, he has resumed individual on-court work and will be reevaluated in two weeks. The team is also optimistic that Lauri Markkanen (hip) and Keyonte George (hamstring) could return before the season concludes.

Suns

Head coach Jordan Ott said injured Suns players Dillon Brooks (hand) and Mark Williams (foot) continue to progress but have not yet joined any five-on-five sessions.
