Former NBA guard Frank Ntilikina is on the verge of joining Olympiacos, according to Eurohoops reporter Aris Barkas. Sources told Barkas that only final details remain between the Greek club and Ntilikina’s current team, Partizan Belgrade.
Ntilikina, 27, agreed earlier this month to extend his contract with Partizan through 2027. Partizan is currently in Australia for a tournament, and the transfer is expected to be completed once the team returns.
Olympiacos is looking for immediate backcourt help after guard Keenan Evans suffered an injury, Eurohoops’ Mihalis Stefanou reported. The club’s other backcourt options include former NBA players Evan Fournier and Saben Lee.
Selected eighth overall by the New York Knicks in the 2017 NBA Draft, Ntilikina spent four seasons in New York before signing with the Dallas Mavericks in 2021. He concluded his NBA tenure with five appearances for the Charlotte Hornets during the 2023-24 campaign.
Ntilikina returned to Europe last summer and helped Partizan capture the ABA League championship. In 21 games for the Serbian club, he averaged 7.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.7 rebounds while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from three-point range.
