The Denver Nuggets have struck a deal with free-agent forward Kessler Edwards, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Specific contract terms were not disclosed, but Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette reports the agreement is a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract. Denver currently has 14 players on guaranteed standard deals, leaving one open roster spot as training camp approaches. The club is slightly over the luxury-tax threshold and could choose to keep that 15th slot vacant to begin the season.
Edwards, who turned 25 on Aug. 9, was selected 44th overall out of Pepperdine in the 2021 draft. He has logged at least 36 appearances in each of his four NBA seasons, spending time with Brooklyn, Sacramento and Dallas.
In 2024-25, the 6-foot-8 forward delivered his most productive stretch while Dallas dealt with multiple front-court injuries. From Feb. 10 through Mar. 19 he averaged 8.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 24.8 minutes, shooting 53.8 percent from the field, 48.6 percent from three and 90.0 percent at the line. He started 14 of 16 games during that run before hitting his two-way games-played limit.
Overall last season, Edwards appeared in 40 games (18 starts) for the Mavericks, posting 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.2 minutes while shooting 49.6 percent overall, 40.7 percent from deep and 92.3 percent on free throws. His career line stands at 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 12.7 minutes across 178 outings.
Because he has surpassed three years of NBA service, Edwards is no longer eligible for a two-way contract and will vie for a standard roster spot with Denver during camp.
