The Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement to sign free-agent guard Javante McCoy, according to Chris Haynes, who disclosed the move on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday evening.

Contract details were not announced, but the agreement is expected to be an Exhibit 10 deal, which allows the team to convert the contract to a two-way slot or waive the player before the regular season begins.

McCoy, 27, played five seasons at Boston University, concluding his collegiate career with averages of 17.4 points and 2.9 assists while shooting 42.5 percent from beyond the arc in his final year.

In 2024-25, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard appeared with the Motor City Cruise, the Detroit Pistons’ NBA G League affiliate, posting 12.9 points and 2.3 assists per game on a .552/.451/.889 shooting line. He has also logged G League time with the Austin Spurs and South Bay Lakers.

McCoy’s addition gives Denver 20 of its 21 available training-camp roster spots. Should he be waived and then spend at least 60 days with the Grand Rapids Gold, the Nuggets’ G League affiliate, he would be eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300 under Exhibit 10 provisions.
