The Denver Nuggets have signed and immediately waived guard Dane Goodwin, according to Monday’s entry in the NBA’s official transaction log.
League sources indicated the contract was an Exhibit 10 agreement, a one-year, non-guaranteed deal that allows a team to funnel a player to its G League affiliate while preserving a potential bonus.
Goodwin, 25, went undrafted out of Notre Dame in 2023 and has since taken part in training camps with the Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz. Last season he appeared in 30 games for the Salt Lake City Stars, averaging 11.5 points and connecting on 40.4 percent of his three-point attempts.
The 6-foot-6 guard spent five seasons with the Fighting Irish, finishing his college career with averages of 10.8 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting .443 from the field, .391 from beyond the arc and .823 at the free-throw line.
By signing and waiving Goodwin, Denver secures his path to the Grand Rapids Gold, the club’s G League affiliate. The Gold already acquired his returning player rights in August. If Goodwin remains with Grand Rapids for at least 60 days, he will be eligible for an Exhibit 10 bonus worth up to $85,300.
