The Denver Nuggets and guard Christian Braun have agreed to a five-year, $125 million rookie-scale extension, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Monday.

The deal includes no team or player options, according to The Athletic’s Tony Jones. The extension will begin with the 2026-27 season.

Earlier in the day, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype noted there was “cautious optimism” that the two sides would come to terms before Monday night’s deadline.

Braun, selected 21st overall in the 2022 draft, moved into Denver’s starting lineup last season after Kentavious Caldwell-Pope left in free agency. In 79 games, the 23-year-old posted career highs of 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 58.0% from the field, 39.7% from three-point range and 82.7% at the foul line.

He becomes the eighth player from his draft class to land a rookie-scale extension, joining Paolo Banchero, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith Jr., Keegan Murray, Nikola Jović and Shaedon Sharpe. Braun’s contract slots into a similar range as Smith’s five-year, $122 million agreement.

With Braun locked in, Denver has four starters—Braun, Nikola Jokić, Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray—under contract through at least the 2027-28 campaign. Jokić holds a player option for that season.
