Brooklyn has preserved its ability to deal newly re-signed swingman Ziaire Williams. According to Spotrac’s Keith Smith, the 23-year-old agreed to waive the implicit no-trade clause that accompanies his new two-year contract, which includes a team option for 2026-27. If the Nets move Williams before February’s deadline, he will forfeit his Bird rights.

The Nets have taken a similar approach with Day’Ron Sharpe, who also surrendered his veto power. Guard Cam Thomas, however, kept full control by accepting his one-year qualifying offer, opting for a smaller 2025-26 salary rather than giving up trade protections.

Ben Simmons No Longer Working With Bernie Lee

Multiple reports recently linked the Knicks to interest in Ben Simmons. A source told the New York Post that Simmons’ former representative Bernie Lee ended their relationship after the three-time All-Star showed no interest in potential talks with New York.

A panel of NBC Sports Boston analysts, including Chris Forsberg, believes rookie center Amari Williams—the 46th pick in June—has the clearest path to minutes among Boston’s three two-way players. The Celtics lost several front-court contributors during the offseason, opening a potential role for the 6-10 big man.

Key Questions for the 76ers

Mizell also examined how head coach Nick Nurse will structure the backcourt rotation and compensate for the free-agent departure of forward Guerschon Yabusele.
