Brooklyn’s roster remains one spot short after Wednesday’s two-way signing of forward E.J. Liddell. According to C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News, the Nets are weighing three candidates for the final two-way deal.

Three players in contention

Fanbo Zeng – The 6’11” forward, reportedly added in August, averaged 14.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks last season for the CBA’s Beijing Ducks, shooting 53% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc.
Grant Nelson – The undrafted Alabama product had a quiet Summer League but impressed Brooklyn’s staff with energy and a versatile offensive game.
Olivier-Maxence Prosper – Recently waived by Dallas, the 2023 first-round pick is viewed as a long-term development project.

Sharpe’s new deal worth $12.5M

Additional figures on center Day’Ron Sharpe came to light through Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Sharpe’s agreement is valued at $12.5 million over two seasons and carries a team option for 2026-27, slightly higher than the $12 million originally reported.

Porter Jr.’s media tour raises concerns

Since arriving from Denver earlier in the summer, forward Michael Porter Jr. has made several podcast and livestream appearances that have included controversial comments. Holmes notes the 6’10” veteran—owed $79.4 million over the final two years of his contract—could diminish his influence on a Brooklyn roster featuring five rookies if the public chatter continues.

The Nets still hold roughly $16 million in available cap space.
