The Brooklyn Nets have signed undrafted rookie guard/forward D’Andre “Dre” Davis to a standard contract that carries an $85,300 partial guarantee, the team confirmed Tuesday.
According to multiple reports, Brooklyn chose a regular deal instead of an Exhibit 10 agreement. While the arrangement will function like an Exhibit 10 for G League purposes — likely steering Davis to the Long Island Nets — the guaranteed amount will count against the club’s salary cap. The move helps push the Nets’ payroll closer to the league’s minimum salary floor; Brooklyn is the only NBA team currently operating below the cap.
Davis, 6-foot-6, completed his college career at Ole Miss in 2024-25 after previous stops at Louisville and Seton Hall. As a super-senior, he averaged 10.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 26.0 minutes while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from beyond the arc.
The 23-year-old appeared in four games for the Nets’ Summer League squad in Las Vegas in July, posting 4.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per contest.
Cap analyst Yossi Gozlan noted that Davis received the same contract terms as center David Muoka, who was signed and waived earlier in the week. For both players, the partial guarantees are expected to secure their rights for Long Island once they clear waivers.
Davis fills the Nets’ 21st preseason roster spot vacated by guard Keon Johnson, who was waived earlier Tuesday while dealing with an injury, according to The New York Post.
