Brooklyn Nets guard Egor Dëmin will miss the rest of the 2025/26 campaign after experiencing increased plantar fasciitis in his left foot, the team announced Monday.

The Nets said the 20-year-old rookie is expected to resume basketball activities early in the offseason and take part fully in the club’s summer development program.

Dëmin, drafted eighth overall last year after a lone collegiate season at BYU, appeared in 52 games this season, averaging 10.3 points, 3.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 25.2 minutes. He shot 38.5% from three-point range and 81.3% at the foul line, notable improvements over his college marks, but converted only 43.3% of his two-point attempts and averaged 1.3 free-throw attempts per contest.

The 6’8” guard entered training camp rehabbing a torn plantar fascia in the same foot and missed most of the preseason. He sat out Brooklyn’s last four games after the pain intensified.

“He’s struggled with plantar fasciitis, and the soreness has increased lately, so we’re being cautious,” head coach Jordi Fernández said last week.

With Dëmin sidelined, fellow rookies Nolan Traore and Ben Saraf are expected to receive additional backcourt minutes.
