The Brooklyn Nets have officially re-signed swingman Ziaire Williams, the club announced Monday, more than two months after the sides first reached an agreement.

The team described the contract only as a multiyear deal, but reports from June 30 indicated the 23-year-old will receive two years and $12 million, with the second season at the Nets’ discretion. Brooklyn gave center DayRon Sharpe an identical framework last week and later nudged the total value to $12.5 million, creating the possibility of a similar adjustment for Williams.

Williams, the No. 10 overall choice in the 2021 draft, arrived from Memphis in a 2024 offseason trade. He averaged 10.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 24.5 minutes over 63 games (45 starts) during the 2024-25 campaign. His 34.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc marked a noticeable jump from his 30.1 percent figure over his first three NBA seasons, and he displayed enough defensive versatility to fill occasional minutes at center. Hoops Rumors ranked him No. 43 on its list of the summer’s top 50 free agents.

Assuming a first-year salary close to $6 million, Brooklyn will retain a little more than $16 million in cap space after deals for Williams, Sharpe, and guard Cam Thomas become official. The organization also holds the $8.8 million room exception and could free additional space by waiving players on non-guaranteed contracts.

NBA rules generally grant players who re-sign on a one-year contract—or a two-year pact with a team option—the right to veto any trade during the following season. A player can waive that protection, and although the Nets are believed to have requested Williams do so, confirmation has not yet surfaced.
