The Brooklyn Nets have reached an agreement to acquire forward Haywood Highsmith along with a 2032 second-round draft selection from the Miami Heat, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
In return, Miami will receive a protected 2026 second-round pick. The transaction was reported on August 15, 2025. Contract terms for Highsmith were not disclosed, and both teams have yet to issue formal statements.
Highsmith, 28, appeared in 66 games for Miami last season, averaging 6.2 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 39.9% from three-point range. The 6-foot-5 wing is expected to add depth to Brooklyn’s forward rotation.
The deal gives the Nets an additional future asset while enabling the Heat to secure an earlier draft choice, albeit with protections attached.
