The latest NBA standings released on Dec. 1 place the Detroit Pistons at the top of the Eastern Conference with a 16-4 record, while the Oklahoma City Thunder dominate the Western Conference at 20-1.
Eastern Conference
Detroit Pistons (16-4) lead the pack, 2.5 games ahead of both the New York Knicks (13-6) and Toronto Raptors (14-7). The Miami Heat (13-7) sit three games back, with the Atlanta Hawks (13-8) trailing by 3.5 and the Orlando Magic (12-8) by four.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (12-9) and Boston Celtics (11-9) hold the next two spots. The Philadelphia 76ers (10-9) are 5.5 games off the pace, followed by the Chicago Bulls (9-10), 6.5 games behind the Pistons.
Further down, the Milwaukee Bucks (9-12) trail by 7.5 games, the Charlotte Hornets (6-14) by 10, the Indiana Pacers (4-16) by 12, the Brooklyn Nets (3-16) by 12.5, and the Washington Wizards (2-16) by 13.
Western Conference
Oklahoma City Thunder (20-1) hold a four-game cushion over the Los Angeles Lakers (15-4). The Houston Rockets (13-4) and Denver Nuggets (14-5) sit five games back, while the San Antonio Spurs (13-6) are six behind.
The Minnesota Timberwolves (12-8) and Phoenix Suns (12-9) follow, with the Golden State Warriors (11-10) nine games off the lead. The Memphis Grizzlies (9-12) trail by 11 games, and the Portland Trail Blazers (8-12) by 11.5.
The Utah Jazz (6-13) are 13 games back, the Dallas Mavericks (6-15) 14, the Los Angeles Clippers (5-15) 14.5, the Sacramento Kings (5-16) 15, and the New Orleans Pelicans (3-18) 17 behind the Thunder.
Teams will look to improve their positions when league play resumes on Dec. 2.
