Detroit has contacted other teams to determine the current trade value of guard Jaden Ivey, sources told Fischer. The former No. 5 overall pick is averaging 16.9 minutes per game after returning from a significant leg injury and will be eligible for restricted free agency this summer. League executives view the outreach as routine due diligence rather than a sign of an imminent deal.
Pacers Explore Center Options, Target Okongwu
The Pacers continue their search for long-term help at center and recently inquired about Atlanta Hawks big man Onyeka Okongwu, Fischer reported. The 23-year-old is posting career highs of 16.0 points in nearly 32 minutes per game. Atlanta has not signaled a willingness to engage on an Okongwu trade, but Indiana’s interest underscores its focus on a more permanent solution in the middle. A separate source told Hoops Wire that Indiana has also considered asking the Cleveland Cavaliers about Jarrett Allen.
Raptors Positioned for Any Available Star
Rival executives consider the Raptors one of the league’s most proactive teams ahead of the trade deadline. Fischer noted Toronto was the only franchise besides Washington that showed serious interest in Trae Young and has also been linked to Anthony Davis and Domantas Sabonis. The Raptors are expected to monitor any potential discussions involving Ja Morant as well, reinforcing their stance that they intend to be in the room if a marquee player becomes available.
