Boston — Celtics guard Anfernee Simons has posted consecutive 23-point performances after a stretch in which his playing time varied from 12 to 33 minutes. The 24-year-old credited the uptick to a simplified approach and greater opportunity on the floor.

“I don’t have that much time to ease in,” Simons said. “So I’m taking the chances that come, staying aggressive and making the right plays.”

The veteran is in the final season of a $27.7 million contract, positioning him as a prominent potential trade asset ahead of the deadline.

McCain Shows Progress in Philadelphia

Miami — Rookie guard Jared McCain recorded a season-high 15 points in 26 minutes during the 76ers’ loss to the Heat on Sunday. The first-round pick is working back from a preseason thumb injury and an early-season knee issue.

“Each game I’m getting more reps on the knee and more movement,” McCain told The Philadelphia Inquirer. “I felt a little burst on my first step.”

Philadelphia is looking for additional scoring while Joel Embiid manages knee soreness.

Raptors’ Record Raises Questions

Toronto — The Raptors improved to 11-5 through Sunday, holding the Eastern Conference’s second-best mark. Despite the strong start, the schedule has included only two matchups against top-tier opponents—Oklahoma City and Denver—both ending in lopsided defeats.

Analyst Eric Koreen of The Athletic noted that while Toronto’s depth has stood out, more rigorous tests remain on the horizon.

The Celtics continue to evaluate Simons’ impact, the Sixers await further growth from McCain, and the Raptors prepare for tougher competition as the NBA season progresses.
