Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus projects free-agent guard Malcolm Brogdon, 32, to land with the Minnesota Timberwolves, offering depth behind starting point guard Mike Conley.
Pincus highlighted Brogdon’s two-way play and outside shooting while noting the veteran’s durability concerns. The Washington Wizards have limited need for the 2023 Sixth Man of the Year after acquiring CJ McCollum, and several clubs — including Golden State, Sacramento and New York — are also monitoring his status. Brogdon averaged 12.7 points and 4.1 assists over 24 games with Washington last season.
Bucks Front Office Observes EuroBasket
Milwaukee Bucks general manager Jon Horst, head coach Doc Rivers and assistant Darvin Ham attended Greece’s EuroBasket victory over Italy, keeping a close eye on forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo, returning from Achilles surgery, said his energy on defense demonstrated he is “fully back.” He posted six points, three rebounds and a late three-pointer in the win.
Cavaliers Enter Season with Elevated Expectations
The Cleveland Cavaliers, coming off a league-best 64 wins but another second-round exit — this time to Indiana — are viewed by ESPN and other outlets as early favorites to win the Eastern Conference in 2026, especially after injuries sidelined Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton.
Those projections raise pressure on Cleveland’s core of Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. Lineup data indicates Mitchell and Mobley could be the long-term cornerstones, while Garland and Allen may headline any future trade discussions if the team falls short again.
