Detroit — Pistons

Guard Cade Cunningham is playing through a right-wrist problem on his shooting hand, balancing treatment and court time, head coach J.B. Bickerstaff told reporters, citing Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press. Cunningham said the injury likely began with a fall against Cleveland on Jan. 4 and worsened after contact the next night versus New York.

“I feel good,” Cunningham said before Sunday’s game, noting that the mental adjustment—trusting the shot and fighting the instinct to flinch—has been harder than the physical pain. Team staff believe the injury should not deteriorate unless he absorbs another direct hit, leaving Detroit to weigh caution against the 22-year-old’s desire to stay on the floor.

Grizzlies

Memphis — Coach Tuomas Iisalo said guard Ty Jerome has advanced to full five-on-five work and could return within one to two weeks, according to Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. Conditioning and workload are the final checkpoints.

Jerome signed a three-year deal with Memphis after averaging 12.5 points and 3.4 assists in under 20 minutes for Cleveland last season, finishing third in Sixth Man of the Year voting. The Grizzlies expect his scoring burst and playmaking to bolster a backcourt still seeking stability.

Pacers

Indianapolis — Bennedict Mathurin is listed as questionable for Indiana’s next game against Atlanta, per Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star, signaling a possible end to an 11-game absence caused by a right-thumb sprain. The guard previously missed time early in the season with a toe injury.

Mathurin ranks second on the Pacers with 17.8 points per game, trailing only Pascal Siakam and narrowly ahead of Andrew Nembhard. Indiana is 6-5 during his current absence.
