INDIANAPOLIS — Pacers wing Quenton Jackson will suit up for the G League’s Noblesville Boom on Thursday night, the final step before rejoining Indiana for Friday’s game in Philadelphia, head coach Rick Carlisle told reporters. Jackson has not played since straining his hamstring on November 3 and is listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup with the 76ers.

The Pacers also waived forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl on Wednesday. Carlisle said Robinson-Earl, who averaged 4.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in 17 appearances before falling out of the rotation, is evaluating several options that include signing with the Boom.

DETROIT — Despite persistent speculation, the Pistons have not held trade discussions with Dallas regarding Anthony Davis and are unlikely to pursue the All-NBA big man, according to the Detroit Free Press. Team sources cited Davis’s age, contract size and injury history as poor fits for a roster built around young players. Detroit, 19-5 and leading the Eastern Conference, is also hesitant to add significant long-term salary with center Jalen Duren eligible for a major extension this summer.

MILWAUKEE — Bucks forward Taurean Prince addressed the media Thursday for the first time since undergoing neck surgery nearly a month ago, saying the procedure was the only way to continue his career. “The only way to hoop again would be to get the surgery,” Prince said. Although he has not yet been cleared for physical activity, the 29-year-old remains confident he will return to action. Prince holds a $3.81 million player option for next season and said he believes he still has “a lot in the tank.”
