ORLANDO, Fla. — Forward Franz Wagner suited up for the Magic on Monday after sitting out nine consecutive games and 25 of the last 27 with a left-ankle injury. Coming off the bench for the first time in his NBA career, the third-year wing scored 14 points on 6-for-10 shooting and handed out five assists in just 17 minutes. Orlando defeated Milwaukee 118-99.
The club maintained a strict minutes limit, but Wagner appeared comfortable and healthy. Coaching staff members indicated he will be eased back into a full workload.
Hornets
Charlotte signed veteran guard-forward Pat Connaughton to a two-year contract at the veteran minimum, league sources told HoopsHype. The deal carries a team option for 2026-27. Connaughton will earn $1.3 million for the remainder of this season; the option year is valued at $3.8 million.
Undrafted rookie Tosan Evbuomwan converted his agreement to a two-year two-way contract that also runs through 2026-27. He joins PJ Hall as the club’s multi-year two-way players, while Antonio Reeves remains on a one-year two-way deal.
Wizards
The Wizards’ recent trade for Anthony Davis has placed the franchise in a holding pattern regarding a possible extension, salary-cap analyst Yossi Gozlan wrote for The Third Apron. According to Gozlan, Washington would have difficulty justifying a maximum-level deal unless Davis remains both healthy and productive for an extended stretch. If the eight-time All-Star is willing to sign for less than the max, talks could advance; otherwise, the organization plans to evaluate his availability before making long-term commitments.
