Sacramento, Houston — Kings forward Keegan Murray rolled his previously injured left ankle in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Rockets and did not return, The Sacramento Bee reported. The 25-year-old has appeared in only 23 contests this season after undergoing thumb surgery and dealing with multiple lower-leg problems.
Sacramento owns the NBA’s worst record at 13-47 and is expected to proceed cautiously with its former No. 4 overall pick. Murray signed a five-year, $140 million rookie-scale extension last fall and remains a cornerstone of the team’s long-term plans. The club has not announced a timetable for his return.
Jazz bring in Mo Bamba on 10-day deal
The Utah Jazz have signed 7-foot center Mo Bamba to a 10-day contract that runs through March 7, the team confirmed. The agreement will pay Bamba $177,064 and carry a $131,970 cap hit.
Bamba, the No. 6 pick in the 2018 draft, spent training camp with Utah before joining the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars, where he averaged 17.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while shooting efficiently. Utah’s frontcourt has been depleted by injuries to Walker Kessler, Jusuf Nurkic and Jaren Jackson Jr., potentially creating immediate minutes for the 27-year-old.
Wizards elevate Jamir Watkins
Washington has converted two-way wing Jamir Watkins to a standard two-year contract, according to ESPN. Selected 43rd overall in 2025, the 6-foot-7 swingman is averaging 8.2 points over his last 16 games and has reached double figures in six consecutive outings.
Watkins becomes the second Wizards player this month to move from a two-way slot to the 15-man roster, joining forward Tristan Vukcevic. The team had an open spot after Alondes Williams’ 10-day contract expired, so no additional transaction was required. Sharife Cooper and Leaky Black remain on two-way deals as Washington continues its youth-focused evaluation.
