The Los Angeles Lakers are already mapping out their 2026 offseason, holding internal discussions about several potential free agents, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported.

Lakers

The front office has identified forward Andrew Wiggins and wing Tari Eason as possible targets, though both players could be difficult to pry away. Wiggins owns a player option for the 2026-27 season, and Eason would be a restricted free agent if the Houston Rockets extend a qualifying offer.

Peyton Watson is also on Los Angeles’ watch list, with the understanding that Denver’s cap constraints might limit the Nuggets’ ability to match a lucrative offer sheet. Beyond those names, league sources told ESPN the Lakers are looking for big, defensive-minded wings who can shoot, a group that could include Tobias Harris, Quentin Grimes, and Dean Wade, depending on how the market unfolds.

Head of basketball operations Rob Pelinka recently emphasized that roster flexibility is crucial as more clubs navigate the league’s new salary-cap aprons.

Jazz

The Utah Jazz announced that forward Jaren Jackson Jr. underwent successful surgery Tuesday in Salt Lake City to remove a localized PVNS growth in his left knee. Team physician Dr. Travis Maak performed the procedure.

Jackson will begin rehabilitation immediately and will be reevaluated in four weeks. Utah has already ruled him out for the remainder of the season. Acquired from Memphis at the trade deadline, the 24-year-old appeared in three games for the Jazz, averaging 22.3 points in limited minutes. With Jackson sidelined, rookie Cody Williams is expected to stay in the starting lineup.

Warriors

The Golden State Warriors filled their open two-way slot by signing guard/forward Nate Williams—also known as Jeenathan Williams—according to the NBA’s official transaction log. The 24-year-old averaged 18.4 points and six rebounds while shooting efficiently for the G League’s Long Island Nets. No additional roster moves were required after the Warriors recently converted Pat Spencer to a standard deal.
