Carmelo Anthony Heads to Hall of Fame; McGee Readies for NBL Debut, Ntilikina Stays in Belgrade

Carmelo Anthony will enter the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this weekend, and longtime Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim believes the 10-time NBA All-Star has been undervalued throughout his professional career. “He made every team that he was on better than they were,” Boeheim told Sportskeeda’s Mark Medina, pointing to Anthony’s impact on the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks despite facing powerhouse opponents such as the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs.
Along with his Hall of Fame induction, Anthony is set to join NBC Sports as a studio analyst for the upcoming NBA season.
McGee Brings Size to Illawarra Hawks
Veteran center JaVale McGee, 36, is preparing for his first campaign in Australia after signing with the Illawarra Hawks. Head coach Justin Tatum said the three-time NBA champion will anchor the interior on both ends of the floor. “There’s no illegal defense here, so he’s gonna clog the lane and make difficult shots for everybody else,” Tatum told ESPN’s Olgun Uluc. “On offense, we can just put the ball up anywhere and he can catch a lob or be on the back side.”
Ntilikina Extends Contract with Partizan
Guard Frank Ntilikina has signed a new agreement with Partizan Belgrade through 2027, according to Sportando. The 26-year-old accepted a significant salary reduction and declined interest from AS Monaco to remain with the Serbian club. “I’m more ready than ever—you will see the best version of me,” Ntilikina said.
Ntilikina averaged 7.0 points and 2.0 assists in EuroLeague action last season, while posting 6.7 points per game in ABA League play amid several injury setbacks.
