ATLANTA — The Hawks expect All-Star point guard Trae Young to rejoin practice next week as he continues rehabilitation on a sprained right MCL, the club announced Saturday.

Young injured the knee on Oct. 29 in Brooklyn after colliding with teammate Mouhamed Gueye. An MRI taken days later showed no additional damage, but the 27-year-old has missed Atlanta’s last 21 games. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported last week that Young is hopeful of playing before the end of December. The Hawks sit at 14-12, ninth in the Eastern Conference.

Other injury notes

Houston Rockets — Tari Eason: The forward, sidelined since Nov. 14 with a strained oblique, practiced Saturday. Head coach Ime Udoka said the team hopes the 24-year-old will be available Monday in Denver, provided he has no post-practice soreness.

Memphis Grizzlies — Brandon Clarke: Clarke practiced Friday with the G League Memphis Hustle before being recalled. The 29-year-old underwent arthroscopic surgery in September to address right-knee synovitis after a PCL sprain ended his 2024-25 campaign. He is still expected to miss at least a couple more weeks but has not played since March 19.

Memphis Grizzlies — Zach Edey: The second-year center, who missed the season’s first 13 games following left-ankle surgery, will be out a minimum of four weeks with a stress reaction in the same ankle. Head coach Tuomas Iisalo called the loss significant but emphasized the long-term benefits of rest.

Phoenix Suns — Devin Booker: Booker practiced fully on Friday and Saturday after sitting the past three games with a right groin strain. Head coach Jordan Ott said the four-time All-Star has responded well and could return Sunday against the Lakers.
