Denver forward Aaron Gordon exited Friday night’s game in Milwaukee after re-injuring the right hamstring that sidelined him for six weeks earlier this season. The Nuggets ruled him out for the second half. Gordon, appearing in the second game of a back-to-back for just the second time since the original November strain, appeared to tweak the muscle in the final minute of the second quarter. He finished with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 16 minutes. “I feel good. Better than I’ve felt in a long time,” he said less than 24 hours earlier following Thursday’s win in Washington.

Denver played without several other rotation players on Friday: Jamal Murray (right hamstring inflammation, left hip inflammation), Peyton Watson (sprains in both ankles) and Jonas Valanciunas (right calf strain).

Mavericks

Dallas center Anthony Davis, recovering from ligament damage in his left hand, has begun light on-court work while wearing a protective glove, according to DallasHoopsJournal.com. The club has not issued a timetable, but he is expected to remain out for several weeks.

Fellow big man Daniel Gafford will return Saturday against the Lakers after missing four games with a right ankle sprain that has bothered him throughout the 2025-26 season. Head coach Jason Kidd plans to keep Dwight Powell in the starting lineup as the Mavericks chase a fifth straight victory.

Nets

Brooklyn center Nic Claxton injured a pinky finger during Friday’s double-overtime loss to Boston and said he will undergo imaging on Saturday. Asked pre-game about trade speculation, Claxton told reporters he leaves those discussions to his agents, noting that general manager Sean Marks maintains an “open-door policy.”

Knicks

Karl-Anthony Towns is listed as questionable for Saturday’s matchup in Philadelphia because of thoracic back spasms. The five-time All-Star has appeared in 41 of New York’s 44 contests this season.
