The Minnesota Timberwolves have ruled guard Anthony Edwards out of Tuesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns because of right knee soreness. The matchup carries significant playoff implications, with Minnesota holding a two-game edge over Phoenix for the No. 6 seed and an automatic postseason berth.

Edwards, who appeared to be favoring the knee during Sunday’s loss in Oklahoma City, will miss his 11th game of the season. The 22-year-old has earned All-NBA Second Team honors in each of the past two campaigns.

Sixth Man of the Year candidate Naz Reid is listed as questionable for Tuesday due to a right shoulder contusion, the Timberwolves announced.

Leonard sidelined for Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers have downgraded forward Kawhi Leonard from doubtful to out for Monday’s home contest against the San Antonio Spurs. Leonard sprained his left ankle in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s victory over Sacramento. The two-time Finals MVP can miss only two more games after Monday and still meet minimum requirements for major postseason awards.

Antetokounmpo questionable for Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game versus Cleveland after appearing to tweak his left knee on a dunk during Sunday’s win over Indiana. Despite the scare, the Milwaukee Bucks star retains a designation of left ankle sprain, and he said post-game he does not expect to undergo imaging.

Spurs without Harper, Kornet

The San Antonio Spurs will be without rookie guard Dylan Harper (right calf contusion) and center Luke Kornet (right knee soreness) on Monday. It marks Harper’s second straight absence and Kornet’s first since Feb. 5. Head coach Mitch Johnson said he is optimistic both players could return Tuesday in Sacramento.
