Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers said Wednesday that Giannis Antetokounmpo remains unavailable as he rehabs a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise suffered on March 15. Rivers pushed back on suggestions from the National Basketball Players Association that the two-time MVP is healthy enough to play, stressing that the organization’s only priority is getting Antetokounmpo medically cleared.

“He’s progressing. He’s just not healthy,” Rivers told reporters, emphasizing that no internal meetings were held to discuss the NBPA’s statement.

Playoff Timelines for Cunningham and Edwards

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on NBA Countdown that the Detroit Pistons are “optimistic” guard Cade Cunningham, sidelined by a collapsed lung, will return before the playoffs begin. Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, dealing with knee inflammation, is considered day-to-day and could be back as soon as Saturday versus Detroit or Monday in Dallas.

Kings Expect Murray Back Soon; Westbrook Still Out

Sacramento announced that forward Keegan Murray, out since Feb. 25 with a left ankle sprain, has resumed contact work and is on track to play before the regular season ends. Veteran guard Russell Westbrook underwent an MRI on his sore right foot that revealed joint irritation in the big toe; he remains sidelined with no timetable set.

Wizards Continue Conservative Approach with George

The Washington Wizards said elbow specialist Dr. Keith Meister confirmed a Grade 2 distal UCL tear in forward Kyshawn George’s left elbow. The 22-year-old will continue non-surgical treatment and is scheduled for another evaluation next Wednesday.
