The NBA on Friday released the full roster of participants for two marquee All-Star Saturday events set for next weekend at the Clippers’ new Intuit Dome.
Slam Dunk Contest
San Antonio Spurs forward Carter Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes, Miami Heat forward Keshad Johnson and Orlando Magic rookie guard Jase Richardson will compete for the dunk crown on Saturday. All four are first-time entrants.
Richardson brings a notable family tie to the competition: his father, Jason Richardson, captured back-to-back Slam Dunk titles in 2002 and 2003.
Shooting Stars Challenge
The league also named the four three-player squads for the Shooting Stars event, which pairs two current NBA players with one former star:
- Team All-Star: Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes, Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren, and three-time All-Star Richard Hamilton.
- Team Cameron: Atlanta Hawks All-Star Jalen Johnson, Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel, and 14-year NBA veteran Corey Maggette—all Duke alumni.
- Team Harper: Five-time NBA champion Ron Harper Sr. teams with his sons, San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper and Boston Celtics swingman Ron Harper Jr..
- Team Knicks: New York Knicks All-Stars Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns join former two-time All-Star and current Knicks executive Allan Houston.
Event Format
The Shooting Stars competition follows a two-round structure. All four teams will participate in the opening round, with the two highest scorers advancing to the final. Each team has 1:10 to accumulate points from seven pre-set shooting spots, with every player attempting a shot from each location in a fixed order. The top score in the final round claims the title.
Both contests are slated for next Saturday as part of All-Star Weekend festivities in Inglewood, California.
