Raptors’ 2025 Offseason: Poeltl Extension, Murray-Boyles Draft Pick Highlight Quiet Summer
raptors-2025-offseason-overview
The Toronto Raptors entered the 2025 summer with most of their heavy lifting already done, leaving only modest roster tweaks and a major front-office vacancy to address before training camp.
Key signings
Sandro Mamukelashvili agreed to a two-year minimum-salary contract that includes a player option for 2026-27. Veteran guard Garrett Temple re-upped for one year at the minimum and waived his trade veto. David Roddy and Olivier Sarr each accepted one-year, non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deals.
Draft additions
Toronto used the No. 9 pick on South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles, signing him to a four-year rookie scale contract worth $28,822,764. Second-rounder Alijah Martin (No. 39) inked a two-way deal. Guard Chucky Hepburn also joined on a one-year two-way contract, while Ulrich Chomche carried over his two-way slot from last season.
Departures
Long-time reserve big man Chris Boucher left for the Boston Celtics. The Raptors waived Colin Castleton and two-way wing Jared Rhoden.
Poeltl secures long-term deal
Center Jakob Poeltl signed a three-year, $84,084,000 extension that starts in 2027-28. The agreement includes his 2026-27 player option at $19.5 million (with $500,000 in incentives), a 5 percent trade kicker and a $5 million partial guarantee in the final season.
Cap outlook
Toronto projects to carry roughly $190.7 million in salary, placing the club above the $187.9 million luxury-tax threshold but below the hard cap. The taxpayer mid-level exception of $5.685 million and three traded-player exceptions (largest $13.101 million) remain unused.
Front-office change
The organization dismissed longtime president Masai Ujiri one day after the draft. General manager Bobby Webster is running basketball operations while ownership searches for a permanent replacement.
What’s next
The Raptors aim to trim tax liability before opening night; waiving non-guaranteed guard A.J. Lawson would move the club beneath the first apron but still leave a modest tax bill of about $800,000. Fourth-year wing Ochai Agbaji, extension-eligible through Oct. 20, could also become a trade chip as the team evaluates roster fits around recently acquired forward Brandon Ingram.
