A dual Logoman trading card bearing the autographs of NBA icons Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant sold for $12.9 million on Sunday, setting a new benchmark for the sports-card market, Fanatics Collect reported.

The price eclipses the previous all-time record of $12.6 million paid for a 1952 Mickey Mantle baseball card and more than doubles the basketball record of $5.9 million established by a Stephen Curry rookie card.

The card’s journey is nearly as notable as its sale price. Collector Gerald Fortier acquired the piece in 2013 for $25,000. Two years later, he accepted an offer of $170,000, believing the return too enticing to refuse. A decade after that transaction, the card re-entered the market and fetched a figure more than seventy times higher.

Jordan captured six championships with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, while Bryant secured five titles with the Los Angeles Lakers before his death in 2020. Their shared Logoman now stands as the most valuable sports card ever sold, underscoring the enduring demand for memorabilia tied to two of basketball’s most celebrated athletes.
