Miles McBride is expected to suit up for the New York Knicks on Sunday, ending a layoff that began on January 27 following sports hernia surgery. The third-year guard is enjoying a career-best campaign, averaging 12.9 points while knocking down 42.0 percent of 6.9 three-point attempts per game.

The Knicks enter the day 1.5 games behind Boston for the Eastern Conference’s No. 2 seed and will take on the Thunder and Rockets during one of their final regular-season road swings. Head coach Mike Brown said McBride will operate under an unspecified minutes restriction. Brown also noted that guard Landry Shamet, recovering from a knee bone bruise, is traveling with the club and showing progress.

Additional injury updates around the league

Portland: Trail Blazers head coach Tiago Splitter said Jerami Grant underwent an MRI on his right calf and will undergo further tests before a timetable is established. Grant reported hearing a “pop” in the calf during the third quarter of Friday’s loss to Dallas.

Minnesota: Anthony Edwards has been upgraded to questionable for Monday’s game after missing six contests with a knee injury. The Timberwolves went 3-2 without their All-Star guard and currently hold a half-game edge over Houston for the West’s fifth seed.

Detroit: The Pistons listed Jalen Duren (right knee), Tobias Harris (left hip) and Duncan Robinson (right hip) as doubtful for Monday’s matchup with Oklahoma City, while Ausar Thompson (right ankle) is questionable. Detroit is already without Cade Cunningham (collapsed left lung) and Isaiah Stewart (left calf strain).
