The Dallas Mavericks have signed forward Tyler Smith to a two-way contract and have waived guard Miles Kelly, the team announced.

Under NBA rules, a two-way deal allows Smith to split time between the Mavericks and their G League affiliate, the Texas Legends. Each club is permitted to carry up to three two-way players in addition to its standard 15-man roster.

Kelly was let go to create space for the move. The guard had been on a two-way agreement before being waived.

The transactions leave Dallas with its current maximum of three two-way slots filled as training camp approaches.
