The Dallas Mavericks plan to keep their front-office structure unchanged for several more months, league sources told The Athletic.

The club dismissed general manager Nico Harrison on November 11 and elevated Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi to co-interim general managers. Both executives are expected to oversee roster decisions at least through the February 5 trade deadline and possibly for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, according to the report.

Owner Patrick Dumont intends to launch a broad search for a head of basketball operations in the spring. While Finley and Riccardi will receive consideration, Dumont is reportedly leaning toward hiring someone who has previously run an NBA front office.

One name already linked to the job is Detroit Pistons executive Dennis Lindsey. The former Utah Jazz general manager previously served as an adviser in Dallas, and minority owner Mark Cuban is said to back his candidacy.

The Mavericks have not announced an official timeline for interviews but are expected to “cast a wide net” once the process begins.
