The Dallas Mavericks have signed forward Tyler Smith to a two-way contract and released guard Miles Kelly, the club announced in a press release.
Smith, 21, entered the league as the 33rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and spent his rookie year with the Milwaukee Bucks. He saw only 122 minutes across 23 NBA games, but logged 25 appearances with the Wisconsin Herd in the G League, averaging 10.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 25.1 minutes.
Waived by Milwaukee in October 2025 amid roster shuffling, the 6-9 forward was selected No. 2 overall in the G League draft by the Osceola Magic and later traded to the Capital City Go-Go. After eight games there, his rights were acquired by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Smith joined the Houston Rockets on a two-way deal in early December, appeared in no NBA contests and was cut in early January. With the Vipers, he has averaged 15.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks over 19 games while shooting .509 from the field and .391 from three-point range.
Kelly, 23, signed a two-way pact with Dallas after going undrafted in 2025. The 6-4 shooting guard has averaged 3.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.6 minutes through 14 NBA outings. He has spent most of the season with the Texas Legends, where he is posting 19.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 32.5 minutes, while hitting 37.1 percent of his 9.1 three-point attempts per game.
Dallas has also completed a separate two-way agreement with wing John Poulakidas, a noted perimeter shooter who had been playing for the San Diego Clippers.
