Point guard Markquis Nowell has reached an agreement with Spanish club Baskonia, according to a report from Chema de Lucas on X.
Recent NBA and G League Stops
The 5’7” floor general spent last season in the Houston Rockets’ system. After appearing in training camp, he was waived before Opening Night and assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ NBA G League affiliate. In 49 G League appearances, Nowell averaged 16.1 points and 8.4 assists across 30.9 minutes per contest.
Nowell also suited up for Milwaukee’s entry at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this July.
Brief Stint With Toronto
The 24-year-old originally turned pro on a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors for the 2023/24 campaign after going undrafted out of Kansas State. He logged one NBA game before the Raptors released him in March.
College Accolades
During his senior year at Kansas State, Nowell captured the Bob Cousy Award, presented annually to the nation’s top collegiate point guard.
