Veteran guard Markelle Fultz joined the Toronto Raptors on a 10-day deal Monday, the club confirmed at 3:48 p.m. ET.
ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported the agreement at 2:45 p.m. ET. Toronto had an open roster slot, so no additional move was required.
The 27-year-old, selected No. 1 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, has been working back into game condition with Raptors 905, who claimed him off the NBA G League waiver wire on March 6. Over five G League outings, his workload increased steadily; over a back-to-back set in Portland last weekend he logged 50 total minutes and produced 27 points on 11-for-22 shooting along with 12 assists and four turnovers, according to Sportsnet’s Michael Grange.
Fultz is expected to be active for Monday night’s home matchup against the Utah Jazz. Toronto’s backcourt depth has been tested with starting point guard Immanuel Quickley sidelined by a foot injury and backup Jamal Shead struggling offensively—Shead is 6-for-25 from three-point range over his last 12 games and shot 1-for-6 in Sunday’s loss at Phoenix.
Across eight NBA seasons with the 76ers, Magic and Kings, Fultz has appeared in 255 regular-season contests. His most recent NBA action came with Sacramento in 2024-25, when he averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 assists in 8.8 minutes over 21 games.
