Free-agent swingman Malik Beasley is in advanced discussions to join Partizan Belgrade for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign, Dusan Markovic of Nova.rs reported, with Sportando relaying the story.
The proposed contract is valued at approximately $2 million and would not include an NBA opt-out clause, according to the report.
Beasley, 29, played all 82 games for the Detroit Pistons last season, averaging 16.3 points while shooting a career-best 41.3% from three-point range. He finished second in the 2024-25 Sixth Man of the Year voting and was expected to secure a lucrative NBA deal this past summer.
Those plans stalled in June when news emerged that the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York was investigating Beasley for potential illegal betting activity. Negotiations with Detroit on a three-year, $42 million contract reportedly collapsed as a result. While Beasley was not named in the October indictments that led to the arrests of Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups in related gambling cases, he has yet to be cleared by federal authorities or by the NBA, which is conducting its own inquiry.
Teams in Europe and China have shown strong interest in Beasley during his free agency, and the Pistons and Cavaliers are among the NBA clubs monitoring his status, according to earlier reports.
Partizan, officially KK Partizan, competes in both the ABA League and the EuroLeague. The roster features former NBA players Shake Milton and Jabari Parker, but the Serbian squad has struggled out of the gate in EuroLeague play, entering today with a 5-9 record.
