Several NBA teams shuffled the back end of their rosters on Thursday, finalizing two-way and Exhibit 10 agreements ahead of training camp.

Magic move Colin Castleton to two-way contract

The Orlando Magic upgraded 25-year-old center Colin Castleton to a two-way deal, filling the club’s lone open slot. The Florida native went undrafted in 2023 but logged time with the Lakers, Grizzlies, Raptors and 76ers last season. In 26 NBA games, he has averaged 4.7 points and 4.7 rebounds across 16.6 minutes.

Castleton, waived by Toronto in July, signed with Orlando later in the summer. As a two-way player he may appear in up to 50 games this year and will earn a non-guaranteed $636,435 unless he is kept beyond January.

Trail Blazers waive guard Javonte Cooke

Portland released guard Javonte Cooke, who had joined the team on an Exhibit 10 contract. The 6-foot-4 scorer posted 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 42 G League contests with the Oklahoma City Blue in 2023-24.

The Rip City Remix recently obtained Cooke’s returning rights, indicating he is expected to start the season with Portland’s G League affiliate. The Blazers still have one open two-way spot and are weighing Cooke for that position, according to The Rose Garden Report.

Celtics re-sign RJ Luis, add Aaron Scott

Boston brought back wing RJ Luis on an Exhibit 10 agreement days after waiving him from a two-way contract. The deal will be terminated so he can join the Maine Celtics, where he can earn a bonus of up to $85,300 by spending 60 days with the affiliate.

Luis, who turns 23 next month, was the Big East Player of the Year at St. John’s last season after averaging 18.2 points and 7.0 rebounds. The Celtics obtained his rights from Utah in the Georges Niang trade before waiving him to open a two-way slot for Ron Harper Jr.

Boston also signed 6-foot-7 wing Aaron Scott to an Exhibit 10 contract. Scott averaged 8.4 points and 4.3 rebounds for St. John’s after transferring from North Texas, and coaches told The Athletic he could develop into an NBA contributor.
