The NBA has wiped out the technical foul assessed to Luka Doncic during Saturday’s matchup with the Orlando Magic, clearing the Dallas Mavericks star to suit up Monday against the Detroit Pistons.
Doncic received what was initially recorded as his 16th technical of the season midway through the third quarter after a brief confrontation with Magic center Goga Bitadze. Reaching 16 technicals triggers an automatic one-game suspension under league rules.
On review, the league canceled the calls on both players, dropping Doncic’s season total to 15 and removing the suspension. Bitadze’s technical was also erased.
Dillon Brooks of the Phoenix Suns became the first player this season to serve a suspension for technical-foul accumulation. Draymond Green (12), Isaiah Stewart (12), Jaylen Brown (11) and Devin Booker (10) are among the other players in double digits.
