LOS ANGELES — LeBron James made it clear his post-playing days will not include a spot on an NBA bench.

“I don’t have coaching in my future,” the 40-year-old forward told China Central Television. James is preparing for his 23rd NBA season — matching the No. 23 on his Lakers jersey — and said any decision beyond 2024-25 will hinge on how the year unfolds and next summer’s free agency period.

Despite approaching 41, James continues to post elite numbers, keeping him in some top-10 conversations, though that status is widely debated.

Clarkson: Knicks Deal Took ‘Two Minutes’

NEW YORK — Jordan Clarkson said his move to the Knicks came together almost instantly after finalizing a buyout with the Utah Jazz.

“I was at Wimbledon when Rich Paul called and asked where I wanted to go,” Clarkson recalled Saturday. “I said, ‘I wanna come to New York.’ It all happened in two minutes. Then I was a Knick.”

The guard cited Madison Square Garden’s atmosphere as the primary attraction. “They’re going to let you have it if you’re playing bad, but when you’re playing great, it’s all love,” he said, adding that linking with Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart also influenced his choice.

Heat Owner Arison Enshrined in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Miami Heat owner Micky Arison entered the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday as a member of the 2025 class.

“The Hall is the highest honor in basketball, but it’s not something I ever sought,” Arison told the audience during a 10-minute speech.

Arison credited Alonzo Mourning for establishing the franchise’s culture and labeled Dwyane Wade “the greatest player in Miami Heat history.” He also revisited his 1995 decision to hire Pat Riley shortly after assuming control of the organization. “Our plan was simple: do right by South Florida and build a winner,” he said.

Under Arison’s 30-year stewardship, Miami has made more playoff appearances than any other NBA team.
