With the NBA trade deadline two weeks away, LeBron James was asked Thursday whether he wants to finish the season with the Los Angeles Lakers or would consider waiving his no-trade clause.
His response, delivered moments after the Lakers’ road loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, was brief: “I’m good.” He repeated the phrase and ended the media session.
The question followed an ESPN report outlining friction between James and Lakers governor Jeanie Buss involving past roster moves, the Russell Westbrook situation and wider organizational issues. James showed little interest in revisiting any of it.
“I don’t really care about the reports,” he told reporters, via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “I don’t care about stories. I don’t care how somebody feels about me.”
The 41-year-old framed his time in Los Angeles around a single objective: bringing the franchise back to prominence. “When I came here, my whole mindset was about restoring excellence,” he said. “I was able to do that bringing the championship here.”
As speculation swirls about potential trades and internal dynamics, James maintained that his accomplishments—including the 2020 NBA title and multiple playoff runs—speak for themselves.
